What is a budget?

A budget is an annual allocation of funds for reoccurring operational costs.

Can my chartered organization request a budget and an appropriation?

Yes! In fact, line items such as travel and other onetime purchases will not be funded through the annual budget process. The Finance Committee suggests that you request those items through an appropriation.

How do I request a budget?

For ASUNM requests, your group must attend a budget workshop in Fall or Spring in order to receive the budget application. Please visit ASUNM’s website for dates & times of budget workshops.

For GPSA requests, your group must attend a budget workshop in Spring in order to receive the budget application. Please visit GPSA’s website for dates & times of budget workshops.

Can our group get more than one budget in a fiscal year?

No, if you need additional funds outside of your budget you can seek an appropriation from ASUNM, GPSA, or both depending on your group's status.
